Setting a custom favicon actually should work by setting this option in
your trac.ini and putting <env>/htdocs/<your_favicon>.ico
[project]
icon = site/<your_favicon>.ico
(...)
However we just found a small bug which affects specifically IE +
favicons. We'll fix that in the next release.
