I was deliberately trying to preserve the elements and style of the original while "translating" from shield to flag. The proposal that repealed the Arms said "WHEREAS nobody even uses shields anymore", it didn't say anything about disliking the general design. I see no reason why my Candidate shouldn't have the chance to be voted down democratically. Where do I have argent on argent? I should have gules on argent, sable on argent, argent on sable, and sable on argent. I was careful to follow heraldric rules -- more careful than the original escutcheon, I might add, which cheated by using "proper".
