Amend Rule 2166 (Assets) by replacing this text:
This portion of that entity's report is
self-ratifying.
with this text:
A list purported to be this portion of that entity's
report is self-ratifying.
[Enables self-ratification even if we were wrong about who held an
office.]
Amend Rule 2201 (Self-Ratification) by appending this text:
A statement within the original publication that the document is
not self-ratifying, and/or not a type of document (e.g. a report)
that it otherwise resembles, counts as a doubt.
[Enables turning off self-ratification simply by stating "Not
self-ratifying" and/or "Not a _____ report", rather than having to
remember to explicitly CoE your own report. Whether a document can
still count as a *report* even when accompanied by the latter type of
statement is beyond the scope of this proposal.]
