Yep, skype has problems.
1. its a memory and cpu hog.
2. when you get a lot of people in a conference it starts making horrible 
hissing noises.
I don't think using skype and playing or modding quake would be a good idea 
simply because theres no push to talk function.

Skype is bad? since when? Maybe on dial-up, but not normally. Then again 
I've never used another voice chat program, but even so, I've never heard 
negative things said about skype.
