I've added those that applied to the AGRIP-Hackers group on Launchpad
and have also made Cara an admin user. I think she had some questions
off-list about the best way to get started; I'll endeavour to answer
those ASAP.
As many of you know, the SnS system is down. It would be good if we
could find somewhere to host it, so that people's AudioQuakes that
they download actually work! This will require a web server that does
Perl, preferably Apache. I can still run the master server at
agrip.org.uk but it might be an idea to make that address programmable
in future releases.
Speaking of which, new releases are needed. However, this is a long-
term goal so in the meantime I suggest that someone creates a simple
program that can be used by newbies to temporarily disable the SnS
requirement in the launcher and add the -nomauth switch to the
commandline. This will enable people to play the game whilst the SnS
system is being fixed.
Finally I believe Launchpad can now host mailing lists for us so we
could have an AGRIP-Hackers list if that would help discussion amongst
new and old developers? Or just keep things going on this list? or
both...
I am going to be off for at least 3 weeks from around the 18th of
August as I am due to have yet another significant operation about
that time. I am desperately trying to limit the damage wrt my
research and job in the run-up to this but will help when I can. If
something's urgent, mail me off-list to get my attention.
