It's no use to you Tony but my server does send maps and sounds and if you have some form of IM, perhaps we can sit down and hash it all out in a semi-realtime environment. Email is not conducive to this kind of thing I believe. I don't want to send a one-line email with part of a config, for you to send a one-line email back saying no, not that one. for me to repeat step 1 etc. If you have msn or aim or something, write to me off-list if you like, and we can figure something out.

Well, ya don't have to think too much, at least not about that, you
gave me just what I needed, I just added all the serverinfo stuff in
the mod.cfg to the server.cfg and all was almost well. Some of the nav
functions such as compass and open area sweep didn't work, so I
manually exec'ed autoexec.cfg then re-exec'ed mod.cfg and all works
fine now. I'll just put it all together on my linux system now and
should be all good to go. Thanks much, but if you have any idea why
the client won't download sound models etc even when the server.cfg
allows for it, that would be helpful, I've looked at the code and can't
yet make heads or tails of it, but I'm still working on getting a
reliable testing box that I'm not using for everything else... Again
though, thanks much, yer fun to talk to anyway... but you probably
already know that... grin!
