Hi there, First, go there to download the final sources of JQ 4.3: http://aq.krisspace.net/ This time, these are really the last sources (or at least it should be so...). After more then a month of tests, Andre and me saw there were some things to do about this version of Jedi Quake. Now they've been done, you can download my work at the address above. I'm now writing the documentation and changing some sounds... depending on the time this will take to me, the new version will come as a .qmod file when... it will come. :p While waiting, if you'd just like to test this version in local mode (or on new servers), just download the sources package and go in the agrip folder. There you'll find qwprogs.dat and spprogs.dat, which you need to copy in a new directory. The best thing to do is to take a copy of Jedi Quake 4.1 or 4.2 and to simply replace the existing .dat files in the corresponding folder. Hope this is clear, if it isn't at some point, ask me! :) Note that I've quite changed the structure of the Web site, now it's quite mor clear...
Rickard, I'm sorry I didn't have a look at your map until now. I'll do this Sunday, 'cos I know I'll have time at that moment. If I don't find the problem, you also can ask Richard, whom is the best mapper we have here! *smile* Now, a big problem. You know that a very poor number of people play AQ on Macs. One of those people, who we know here, is Mark BurningHawk. For some weeks now, when playing with Mark, he always tells me an important problem. The thing that happens is that, following him, his computers tells him manny times he kills other people, when... for other people it doesn't say anything like that! Maybe the problem comes simply from the engine's version... but it shouldn't be possible. I haven't read the code of ZQuake, or not entierly, but I know it's just a client... all the incoming messages are managed by the server, and that I know it 'cos it's in the QC code. But, I cannot believe Mark is lying us... if he says his computer is saying he kills someone, that's true for me. The problem is that often, his machine says "Tempest was blasted by Hashishin", for example. In fact, I don't get the message when he says it comes... and often, I even am not touched by the blasts that are suppo sed to come to me. Another part of the thing is that when you die, you normally switch back to the blaster and stop flying, such things... and Mark says that often, this doesn't happen with him, when we kill him. Of course, the frags are shown for all Windows / Linux users, as they should be shown... but why are they not then, for Mac users? Can't understand that! If you check the frags list on andrelouis.com (mine will come soon, if you're wondering...), you'll see Hashishin is in the five first fraggers... but he has many many deaths. I cannot accept that a player gets deaths simply because his engine is wrong somewhere... but at the same time, I've no clue of what the hell this problem can be... So, if someone has any idea, say it please! I told Mark that some friends of me that are using Mac, have installed Windows XP with a virtual machine to be able to play some games (such as AQ, Super Liam etc... Windows games, at all). But, it makes no sence to ask someone to buy a soft, or badder, to install an illegal soft on his machine, simply to play a game! So, all help is welcome! Sorry for writing so much... Cheers, Christoff _______________________________________________ AGRIP-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.agrip.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/agrip-discuss
