Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu
Jana'iz - 16th Dhul-Qa'da 1424 (9 January 2004) Narrated by Abdullah bin Umar (Radhiallaho anho): Sad bin 'Ubada became sick and the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) along with 'Abdur Rahman bin 'Auf, Sad bin Abi Waqqas and 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud visited him to inquire about his health. When he (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) came to him, he (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) found him surrounded by his household and he asked, "Has he died?" They said, "No, O Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam)." The Prophet wept and when the people saw the weeping of Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) they all wept. He (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said, "Will you listen? Allah does not punish for shedding tears, nor for the grief of the heart but he punishes or bestows His Mercy because of this." He (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) pointed to his tongue and added, "The deceased is punished for the wailing of his relatives over him."
