Hello,

There are many things one should check when doing geostatistical simulation.
You should as a minimum check the following:
1. First check it visually (pixelplt in GSLIB). See if the map makes sense and reproduce the features you consider important.
2. Check how did it honour your data (if you did conditional simulation). Depending on the option you used in simulation, you may have assigned the data to nodes to speed up the simulation. This will generate a loss on your data reproduction.
3. Check histograms. >From the info you sent, it seems like you are getting a very high variance (I assume the numbers you are reporting correpond to the mean and variance of the normally distributed simulated values). Find the reason...
4. Check variogram reproduction (use gam and plot the result against your variogram model, for each realization).

There are many other things you could check, but these are the basic ones.

Para: Asunto: [ai-geostats] gslib sequencial simulation program

hi
i have used  the sequencial simulation in GSLIB software. i have got the output from that option. but how i know that the result is ok or not? i have used 3 realisation and getting the mean and variance is 0.0018, 0.0012, 0.0056 and 1.996, 1.865, 1.999 respectively.
how the result is?
thanks in advance
