how to use aide conf file and databases

Hello,

I am ne wto aide and use it on solaris and linux redhat. 

I was wondering if there is a default path aide searches for its conf file.
Or do I have to do  -c /etc/aide.conf?

Also is there a solution to let cron run it and sent the list of changes to
email or something?
