New question #557052 on loop-aes-utils in Ubuntu:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/loop-aes-utils/+question/557052

I riding without any difficulty an image disk Apple (HFS +) on my Ubuntu 16 :)
Now I would do the same with an encrypted disk and I have to install a
loop-aes-utils archive.

I found only this one that causes me problem:

Phelibre @ phelibre-VirtualBox: ~ $ sudo apt install
loop-aes-utils_2.16.2-2ubuntu1_i386.deb
Reading Package Lists ... Done

E: Could not find any package by glob 'loop-aes-utils_2.16.2-2ubuntu1_i386.deb'
E: Unable to find a matching regular expression
"loop-aes-utils_2.16.2-2ubuntu1_i386.deb"

With this message I am a little dry and nothing special since dmesg ...

Do you have a hose?
