According to Oracle Java OpenJDK 8 LTS [8u271] The End of Life is 31 March
2022 for active support.
Security support only will end 31 March 2025.
According to Oracle Java OpenJDK 11 LTS [11.0.9] The End of Life is 30
September 2023 for active support.
Security support only will end 30 September 2026.
This why Ubuntu went with OpenJDK 11 LTS The Java package its self has to have
full support, active and security
for its functionality and security.
This is and was decided by the Oracle developers of the Java OpenJDK.
There may be other builds at the GitHub privately in the future.
