Hello my friends, few years ago Jon and I started this project called aikiframework, our main goal was to make web development easier. I did the non-human tasks like programming while Jon handled the human tasks like talking, planning and out reach.
a year ago I was able to teach my GF how to use the computer and how to build database driven websites on aiki in one week. she didn't understand what a database is nor what a web server is but she was able to use aiki to build things. those were the happy days. few month after and a revolution against the regime started in my country and it changed my life. instead of doing non human tasks I started doing human stuff like talking and shouting and meeting with people. and while I was very busy doing that some great people joined the aikiframework developers team. and started doing amazing stuff. the problem now is that I can't figure out how to install aikiframework anymore. even if you convince your self that there are simple guides on the wiki or in the readme files or whatever, if I can't figure out how to install it then there is a major problem and I'm sure my GF (who used to make web apps without knowing what php stand for and without even hearing of non human stuff like makefiles) will also be confused with the new white looking files with complicated stuff in it setting in each directory just to make non-humans able to install aiki from command line. please don't get me wrong, I totally admire all the great work that went on this. but I just don't know how to use it and I don't understand why it is there. I don't understand why Linux have to be so complicated that only geeks can make use of it. I used to be a geek and now want to be a farmer with a laptop a mac one because it's easier to install apps on it. I don't pay for stuff because I have the internet and my human mind can't understand stuff like piracy because I know humans can/should share everything. i can download anything I want for free and I don't care if it's open source or not because as human I only care to get the task done. when you are in filed doing live streaming for a protest and security forces start shooting at you and you have to run. believe me you don't care like at all about what app you are using for the streaming as long as it works. be it android, iphone or what ever combination of letters there on the product box or product site. be it open source or not is not an important factor at all. no one is going to read your source code anyways and source code is only a stupid thing non humans invented to make life of some people more complicated. I had to teach real farmers who has cows and trees on how to do live streaming and how to use a computer. and they all can't understand what is the deference between an android and an iPhone. for them there are two things in the world of smartphones (they for sure don't know the term smart phone as well) and since the word iPhone is easier to spell in Arabic. the know that there is the easy iPhone which come with arabic support, and the complicated iPhone aka android which doesn't have arabic support and come with two many different complicated configurations and they know that the complicated iPhone is a piece of crab since it's even cheaper than the easy iPhone. my vision was to make web development a possibility for those people with aikiframework at some point. and it's now far from that. currently even I can't install the thing, and if I manage to do the code editor don't show up. like what on earth went wrong? why we have all those educational systems that's just make our lives harder and more complicated? why should we spend all that time to make aikiframework embeded in linux repo like fedora or ubuntu? why it's important? why it's not possible to install aiki from the web installer or by drag and drop like mac apps? why it can't work on my easy iPhone? or my easy mac? it doesn't even work on windows? because we are doing the wrong thing. adding complication to simple stuff. and again I really admire all the work that people did on aiki. but that's can be in different channel that I don't want to see while I was writing this someone called me to tell me there is bombing near by and I have to communicate with some guys in order to tell there stories to the world. 10 people died right now while I'm writing this. so to hell goes technology that can't protect human lives. and long live simple stuff that help those people. so here is what I want and what I have to do: delete all the complicated stuff from the main trunk and make aiki for humans, then if you want the complicated stuff you can make another trunk. and I have to stop the bullshit thing I'm writing, because now I have to write this in an email and send to all tv channels: Hi, here is a contact of Abu Omar a guy from Bab Amer in Homes, there is > currently bombing by the Syrian army going on there place, he can speak > english and want to speak to media. you can hear the bombing when talking > to him. please add him on skype: > freedom.homs > Thanks > I started writing this as an email then found it can be a blog post, but it's too complicated for my farmer mind now to post on a blog since we have too many. if you like it please post if now just delete the email. the people who care about reading this already did. down with info and technology and long live humosapians -- Bassel Safadi | http://bassel.ws Skype: i.know.sy | Global: +1-323-545-3855
