I've been thinking a bit about this. When I talk about an Aiki 'site' I normally mean everything, including plugins, extensions and widgets, that make up a finished product, like Open Font Library.
When I first started designing with Aiki, I scattered the custom files throughout the assets folder in images, javascript, etc. Later I learned to put all the custom files in a single extension folder to keep it compartmentalized. But I think this is misusing an extension. An extension should be a piece of code that could work on any site (like a utility function). In all honestly I don't care so much about "multiple sites" in Aiki. What I value more is having an easy process to 1) install a new Aiki instance then 2) install the needed plugins, extensions, and import the custom widgets to make a new Aiki a real 'site.'
