It's a great desktop system. Plus I think in this case it's really Debian's fault. :)
But again I think we should close this bug now. The problem I'm having now is not the same. It's either a misconfiguration or a script problem but in any case it's not the same as the bug I described here which you have fixed. Lets close this move this discussion to the list check my configuration I'll update the installation page on the wiki accordingly if it is a problem with my configuration and we'll open a different bug if it is not.
