Secondary Skills: *UNIX** * *Job Purpose/ Description*: This is a senior WebSphere Application Server Administration position seeking strong skills and experience in WebSphere 6.0/6.1 in an enterprise Unix environment with associated related technologies, specifically Apache v2.x family, IBM WAS Add-on products (MDM, WSRR, ILOG, Portal, WPS) and general SOA architectural concepts. To handle the overall administration and technical support of distributed j2ee middleware server systems, ensuring acceptable and consistent levels of performance through optimization. Oversee monitoring and design of tools to manage the environment effectively; apply all patches and system upgrades, perform configuration management of all associated software, middleware & customer j2ee applications. Perform system integration testing of middleware w/server operating systems, related utilities and hardware; work with database systems administrators, programmers, analysts, engineering, business continuity, and operations staff to ensure that effective data security, integrity, monitoring and recoverability procedures are in place at all times.
