*Job Purpose/ Description:*

* Leads and delivers large complex projects on time and on budget.
Responsible for ensuring all critical aspects of the project lifecycle are
completed thoroughly and accurately from project charter through deployment
and project close out. Primary point of contact and responsible for managing
project financials, resource / capacity planning, mitigation of risks and
escalation of issues as required, communication status, etc.. *

Possesses in-depth knowledge of principals, theories, practices, and
techniques for managing activities related to planning, managing and
implementing systems analysis and applications development projects. *
*
Manages one or more cross functional projects of medium to high complexity.
*

Consistently delivers projects on time and within budget, meeting high
quality standards and customer expectations.*
*
Strong ability to analyze business unit technology needs, dissecting complex
problems and suggesting process oriented solutions. *
*
Creates project plans and teamwork assignments, identifies resource needs,
directs daily work efforts, and tracks key project milestones. *
*
Strong ability to track and monitor project execution, regularly updating
project plans and status reports. *
*
Actively identifies any issues or risks associated with a project,
escalating them and possibly implementing mitigation strategies for risk
prevention and timely resolution. *

May serve as departmental liaison to interdepartmental or interdivisional
project initiatives. *
*
Negotiates deliverables from initial requirements to final implementation
across multiple business units / functional areas. *
*
Performs human resource management responsibilities, e.g., hiring,
performance management. *
*
May manage and/or mentor project management staff. *
*
Tasks and Responsibilities: Strong knowledge of Project Management
methodologies and tools, resource management practices, and change
management techniques. *
*
Strong grasp of human resource management techniques.*
*
Serves as back-up for manager. *
*
Responds to direct questions from IT Management or the business on the
effects of emerging technologies on product development, business process
and direction.
-Works independently, advises less experienced staff, makes recommendation
on projects or initiatives.
-Reviews/approves project development and leads project initiative
requirements asks all universal questions (who, what when, where, how) to
define project, estimates man hours required to accomplish specific tasks
for budget purposes, obtains authorization;
- Designs project plan, constructs project plan, tests all areas of project
with focus on quality assurance to find all errors before implementation
(methods, risks, techniques, processes/practices/ procedures, designs, test
plans and strategy, spreadsheets of defects, test conditions, test runs,
project domicile, etc.)
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal
customers to mitigate risks and / or prevent / resolve issues
- Successfully manage and deliver multiple initiatives of moderate
complexity simultaneously
- Work independently with key stakeholders to define key objectives ,
solicit their input and maintain their active participation throughout the
project
- Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will
successfully execute their plans
- Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a
thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and
translate them into application and operational requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to
interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and
subject matter experts most of whom are geographically dispersed
**REQUIRED:** *
*Strong mutual fund / capital markets / trading floor experience and
knowledge
Required education/experience: Bachelors Degree or equivalent work
experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration
or other related field.
Project Management Certification preferred.
6 to 8 years of IT work experience and project management.
Excellent understanding of IT and its alignment with business processes.
Excellent understanding of SDLC.
Manages multiple projects or workstreams of medium complexity.
Strong human resource management skills.
Strong mutual fund / capital markets / trading floor experience and
knowledge*
