I have urgent opened Position Grand Rapids, MI for 2 Months Contract. Basic Job Functions: - Development Follows Web Development coding, communication, documentation and source control standards Writes test cases, unit tests Performs exploratory testing Creates HTML and CSS from designs supplied by the Web experience team. Uses SQL to automate transactions (inserts, updates, deletes) and write and optimize queries for various Web applications. Has knowledge of *Apache (how it works, configuration), mod_perl, HTTP, FTP, JavaScript, headers, cookies, and plug-ins.* Understands the advantages of object oriented development, and uses it as necessary. Writes maintainable, optimized Perl that access files, uses Oracle, and creates HTML. Uses libraries developed by Client when applicable, recommends the installation of additional libraries from CPAN as needed, and creates new shared libraries when necessary. Is comfortable working with the web-hosting environment (Linux); using UNIX commands to list, view, compress and edit files. Uses version control and knows how to checkout, update, commit, and tag. Works to make sure all solutions fit into a technical Web strategy that is integrated with the overall corporate enterprise architecture. Has an understanding of how Plone works, and assists with configuration and support. May be required to learn and share new languages or other technologies. Customer Service Has a firm understanding of how the managed care business works and how Web applications can be used to address the needs of the business. Teamwork Collaborates with Web experience, Unix and PAST teams on the development, rollout and support of user-centric Web applications. Performs code reviews, design reviews, concrete experiments Delegates tasks when appropriate, and given opportunity. *Additional Skills:* QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years experience with web environment support and development, including CGI and N-tier support. Some experience with content management, LDAP and 4GL environments preferred. Must possess a strong understanding of software engineering principles including data normalization, structured programming, and software development life cycles. Must possess an understanding of TCP/IP, HTML, CGI Applications and middle-tier based services, with some experience designing, developing and supporting applications in such an environment.
