Job Title : Sybase DBA
Location: New York
Duration : 6 months to 1year

*Position Description : *
This is a position for a Sybase Server System DBA with at least 3 years of
experience supporting multi-server enterprise environments.
This person will work during the business week and on some weekends
executing Sybase and Microsoft SQL server migrations.
S/he will also work mid-week in setting up processes and performing DBA
support work.
S/he must be able to perform troubleshooting for utility issues and have a
solid understanding of the Korn shell scripting language.
This person will work with the DBA group as well as other coordinators
involved in migrations and must be able to research and clearly articulate
progress and status of scripts that already exist.
Some knowledge of PowerShell is a plus.The person must have a strong
attention to detail and a sense of urgency.

*Skills Required:*
Financial experience is a plus
-3 years of Sybase ASE and Microsoft SQL Server system administration
-strong SQL language knowledge
-strong database administration knowledge in both Sybase ASE and Microsoft
SQL Server System administration.
-must be able to work with command line tools as well as GUI tools
-must be proficient in Korn shell scripting
-excellent problem solving skills
-excellent verbal and written communication skills
-ability to multi-task
-familiarity with Unix/Linux as well as the Windows platform
-sense of urgency
-must be detail-oriented
-must be a team-player

*Skills Desired:*
-exposure to PERL
-knowledge of PowerShell
