*Skill*: Web application development, .NET, C# * Job description:* The successful applicant will help us develop the next generation seismic interpretation system known as CDIS (comprehensive data interpretation system) to assist geoscientists in finding an economic development of hydrocarbons with an emphasis on a next generation user interface, 3D visualization and web-based client/server application. At core, this job requires an individual that is a very strong software developer and proficient in web technologies such as ASP.NET MVC3, C#, JavaScript, HTTP, HTML5, CSS, Flash/Flex and SilverLight. We need someone that is self-motivated, can collaborate ideas with the team, and who does not require large amounts of hand-holding to come up to speed. Strong core .NET and C# programming skills are a must. Knowledge of any MVC web frameworks such as Django and Rails, multi-touch software development kits and OpenGL are a plus. Demonstrated ability to develop a custom solution using the core components of the .NET version 4 frameworks is a strong requirement. The candidate must be able to create clearly documented, well thought out, professional quality code that is maintainable by the team. This specific job requires detailed knowledge of web-application development (particularly in an enterprise setting). The candidate we are seeking will primarily be working with other software application developers and geoscientists to rapidly prototype various web-application ideas and implementations, and will develop a web-application framework to be used in building the CDIS test-harness. Examples and descriptions of past work is required. We are ultimately looking to change the way the geoscientist community will work the core of the Shell business of seismic interpretation.
