This is my direct client opening for *Reliability Engineer* - *Sunnyvale**, CA*. This is a 3-6 Months contract position. The Hourly rate is 40/hr. *Candidates need to interview in person and should be in the CA area.* *Job Description *• Create a formal set of product reliability design guidelines and rules for the new products to meet customer expectations of quality/reliability. • Evaluate new products and existing products design for optimum component, module, and system reliability and availability. • Specify and implement remedial risk mitigation measures to improve module and system reliability. • Systematically analyze and predict failure rates and MTBF. Make life predictions and risk assessments based on Telcordia SR-332 or other parts-count methodology, or using accelerated-life test data or field data. • Support all analyses with data; help develop and implement testing plans to validate changes made to improve system reliability. • Develop and implement a Reliability Improvement Roadmap to reduce warranty and post-warranty failures. • Specify and conduct ALT, HALT, and HASS testing and other reliability testing protocols as deemed necessary. Use the output to identify system weaknesses. Prescribe and validate remedial measures to improve overall system reliability. • Verify and validate integrated system reliability design requirements. • Participate in FMEAs and Lean 6 Sigma projects. • Manage product reliability testing (RRT, ORT, Life, etc.) in manufacturing. • Work in collaboration with Failure Analysis team in determining Root Cause failure analyses. • Generate corporate reliability reports on a quarterly basis as well as customer requested reliability reports. Required Job Skills: • 7 Years of Experience in Reliability Engineering in modules or systems environment required • BS (preferably MS) in Engineering • Solid experience with all reliability engineering protocols, models and analytical software for life prediction and risk assessment/mitigation. • Demonstrated level of first-hand experience with and extensive suite of reliability tools including failure rate and MTBF analysis, block diagrams, FMEA, FRACAS, and accelerated life testing (ALT, HALT, HASS). • An understanding and ability to perform data analysis and statistical analysis of data including Weibull analysis is required.
