Position
A Senior Developer position for the Reservations Development group
responsible for the development of web applications used by call center
agents to service customers in their reservation needs.
Responsibilities
· Develop and support new software applications and modules.
· Work with business units on requirements clarification and analysis.
· Provide technical design for new projects including incorporating
with existing products and new applications.
· Work closely with internal and external teams such as Architecture,
QA, Infrastructure/Operations, and business process and training groups.
· Provide development estimates for projects based on business
requirements.
· Conduct code reviews and provide guidance and feedback to
development team.
· Be proactive in troubleshooting and analyzing existing applications
for defects and performance issues.
· Perform research, design and prototyping of new technologies.
Skills
· Excellent communication skills.
· Knowledge and understanding of SDLC processes and methodologies.
· Experience in design and development of Java applications with an
eye for reusable components.
· Experience configuring and administering J2EE application servers
such as JBoss, Tomcat, or Resin.
· Strong proficiency in database design.
· Experience with performance tuning of applications including Java
profiling, memory profiling, data caching, database tuning, and browser
performance analysis.
· Experience in JSF, Spring IoC/MVC, Hibernate, Ehcache, JMS, JDBC,
JMX, Ant, Maven, Web Services, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, and JSON.
· Experience in developing rich internet applications (RIAs) using
AJAX/JSON, DHTML, UI toolkits, etc.
· Experience in content delivery networks such as Akamai is a big
plus.
· Think "out of the box" in solving problems and troubleshooting
issues.
· Comfortable in a highly dynamic environment.
