Role: DB2 DBA. Pennington, NJ. Duration: 6 month contract *************Local candidates please************** Candidate will be reponsible for the database design and development of large scale mainframe database systems. The candidate must also be experienced in database performance tuning, backup & recovery strategies, monitoring logs and operational database maintenance. The right candidate must be a strong communicator who can succesfullly interact with the application developers and end-users. Candidate must also be able to communicate with operational staff to troubleshoot and manage Db2 processes and applications. Position requires 24x7 on call support for production database support. Candidate must have a least 5 years experience as a DBA in a large scale shop utilizing IBM DB2 mainframe technology. The candidate must have experience with DB2, CICS, SQL, JCL, Utilities, Cobol, REXX, DB2PM and Vendor products. Candidate must posses a strong knowledge of products utilized for distributed mainframe access such as DB2Connect, Shadow Direct.
