Title:Business Analyst Location:Irving,TX Duration : 1 month * * Start :12/3/2008* Description: A) Phase I: Discover Information Following are the activities completed in this step: Review existing architectural documentation for current TDM and VoIP solutions. Identify stakeholders and focus groups. Create and distribute surveys to solicit pertinent information. B) Phase II: Synthesize Information Cost and design information from various sources and formats is organized into a cohesive data set. A key aspect of cost analysis includes risk analysis. Allow a range of input values to consider sensitivity to assumptions. Foster a broad perspective: keep the blinders off. Use conservative assumptions: assume that some costs and risks are not identified. The client-defined IP communications architecture will be reviewed for feature parity considerations, such as PBX and voicemail features based on the business requirements defined earlier in the engagement, and to establish a baseline for financial analysis. C) Phase III: Develop Model A computational econometric model is used to compare alternatives with respect to cost, function, operability, and performance. The intent of the model is to derive appropriate measures of alternative solutions, such as payback period, return on investment, net present value, and internal rate of return, so that decision makers can determine the best unified communications strategy. The model also permits various parameters such as vendor discounts and traffic growth to be varied, so that such options and choices can be exercised to determine the sensitivity of the outcome to each. Note: Consulting will compare actual TDM voice costs today versus costs associated with the-provided IP Telephony and LAN Service. D) Phase IV: Articulate Findings Results of the study are delivered as a document with an executive summary that defines clients chosen strategy, and identifies and quantifies its benefits. The body of the document indicates how the study was conducted, what inputs were used, what outputs were generated, and the decision-making process. In addition, Consulting provides the econometric model, so that client can continue to refine the architecture and determine the effects of new requirements, variation in costs, and unforeseen changes in needs and in technical capabilities going forward. Consulting also produces and delivers an executive presentation describing the refresh process and results. The evaluation model will be presented to client stakeholders.
