This is my direct client opening for *Senior Technical Lead Programmer
Analyst III - New York, NY*. This is a 12 months contract position. The
Hourly rate is $55/hr. Candidates need to interview in person and should be
in the NY area.

*Responsibilities:*
- Responsible for overall architecture, design, development, and
implementation of a new system based on the commercial portal (Vignette)
technology; this includes specifying the standard system modules (portlets)
and custom Java components (helpers, DTO, services, DAO, etc.)
- Design and Build application
- Assist in coding the application
- Assist in testing efforts, Perform unit testing and fixes during
testing Phase
- Assist in documenting coding and testing efforts
- Coordinate and produce all documentation regarding system design
- Build and unit test modules for the system
- Develop use cases and misuse cases for handoff to QA team
- Document the system design using UML (create class, sequence, activity,
state diagrams) and produce written system documentation
- Lead the development efforts and help the team to understand new
technologies
- Do low level application design and code complex features
- Communicate risks and issues to project management and agency
- Use best practices for development and ensure they are used across the
project
- Ensure proper use of current technical resources for completion of
project
- Conduct code reviews of the system being developed
- Assist in testing efforts, perform unit testing and fixes during
testing phase
- Analyze and improve system performance

- All documentation regarding system design (Technical Lead with
assistance from Programmers)

- Class Diagrams

programmers)

*Mandatory Skills/Experience *
-The selected candidate should possess a minimum of 8 years of Java
development experience
-Practical knowledge of commercial portals (preferably Vignette) and
hands-on experience of portal application development
-Strong knowledge of object-oriented methodology and UML language
-Experience in design, development, and implementation of large-scale
enterprise internet/intranet J2EE systems
-Working experience with JAVA Frameworks (Hibernate, Spring, Struts, etc.)
-Knowledge of SQL and database design;
-Ability to plan technical architecture and develop use case documents;
-Excellent oral and written communication skills;
-Experience working with the following technologies:
- Commercial Application Portal (preferably Vignette)
- Oracle
- BEA WebLogic
- UNIX
- JSP/Servlets
- Hibernate
- XML/XSL
*The following experience is desirable but not required:*
-Experience working on government technology projects with the City of New
York is preferable.
-Experience with search technologies and search implementation is beneficial
as well.
-Tech Lead experienced in Service Oriented Architectures and concepts
preferred.
-Experience with Interwoven TeamSite or other Content Management
System
-Experience with data integration systems.
-A Bachelors or Masters degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent
