General Description:
Leverage your knowledge of internet design and technologies to build and
maintain custom websites. You'll be joining a team that is creative, focused on
results, works together to solve problems, and is committed to developing
people.
Core Responsibilities:
The principal function of the Web Designer is to be part of a team that applies
knowledge of web design to build and deliver custom websites and on-line
advertisements (e.g., banner ads) for customers. This includes supporting:
. Website design services
. Logo design / development
. Banner design / development
. Rich media ad design / development
The Web Designer is responsible for working with clients and software
developers to build custom websites. This includes producing design comps or
website prototypes as guidance, assisting in the QA and final review of the
actual websites before they are published.
Additional requirements include:
. Analyze and document user requirements.
. Maintain and update new and existing customer websites
. Acquire and maintain knowledge of current standards, policies and procedures
. Collaborate with other team members and cross-functional units to ensure
quality
. Maintain and develop technical skills to keep current in design systems and
analysis techniques
. Provided back-up design assistance when needed
. Time management, as well as other administrative tasks.
Education & Experience:
. B.F.A. in Graphic Design, Visual Arts or equivalent required.
. 3 - 5 years professional experience in website design development. Experience
in developing and supporting the implementation of consumer facing web sites
required.
. Proven ability to partner with various groups within an organization such as
Marketing, Sales and IT to build consensus, gather and execute requirements
. Highly proficient in programs including Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe
Illustrator.
. Familiarity with Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Flash development a plus.
. Familiarity with HTML and CSS coding a plus.
. Experience with Photoshop for image preparation, optimization, and building
templates from original designs
. Strong customer orientation; ability to participate in sales calls as needed.
. Requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, self
motivation and ability to work under pressure
