Rate Doe JOB DESCRIPTION - DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This is a senior software development position. The successful candidate will be senior contributor to the redesign project for the new Reuters.com platform that serves news to 18 international sites globally. The job requires a strong computer science background, ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to design pragmatic solutions, strong software development discipline, ability to learn and apply new technologies, and ability to provide technical leadership for small development teams. JOB SPECIFICATIONS - REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Java/J2EE, MySql and MS SQL Server, Apache, J2EE containers (WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, etc.). Knowledge of HTTP, JavaScript/AJAX, XML and XHTML required Strong working knowledge of Struts and Spring is highly desirable. Experience with a versioning system (e.g., CVS,SVN) is required. B.S. in C.S., E.E. or Math required (M.S. or higher preferred). Notes: Most important exp: Java & Linux. Aware of web technologize, not just finance bgrnd. Exp in large media companies a plus (ex.
