1 year Chicago, IL. Candidates with brokerage or trading experience will be given first preference by client. Must have Complex Event Processing tools like Streambase or Apama. Must also have low level design experience. This must be on the resume. SKILL SETS: see below...must meet the requirement Applicant must meet MOST of these requirements. Description: Senior Java Developer with strong application design experience 1. Experience designing multi-threaded, real-time message processing applications, such as - market data feed handler - trade engine or - market analytics application 2. Strong analytical and technical design skills. Experience (minimum 7 years) in creating detail technical specifications, class diagrams, sequence diagrams etc. Full life cycle project experience from requirements to rollout using RUP methodology. 3. Excellent hands-on core Java skills, including (7+ years) concurrent programming network programming publish-subscribe messaging (preferably TIBCO Rendezvous) SQL/JDBC, including batching Database schema design and performance implications Collections Regular expressions Experience writing efficient, high-throughput Java code 4. Must be very stong & have hands on design experience using object oriented paradigm. 5. Familiarity with profiling a Java application using commercial or open source profilers Good understanding of JVM arguments and parameters Understanding of how to tune a JVM and Garbage Collection 6. Strong Linux/Unix experience including Basic navigation File editing Shell scripting to support running a JVM on Linux Other Linux/Unix scripting such as Perl or Python would be a nice to have 7. GUI Development experience JSP/Servlet Spring MVC or Struts Experience with SL RTView is a big plus 8. Experience with Complex Event Processing tools like Streambase, Apama is a big plus 9. Experience in C/C++ is not necessary, but is a nice to have 10. Highly Motivated & self starter with ability to work in a dynamic environment. 11. Creative & Quick learner with ability to understand big picture. 12. Strong oral & written communication skills.
