Position: *LINUX Migration Specialists (3x)* # of openings: Three (3x) * * *H1b’s OK but need strong communication skills!* * * Location: BOWIE, Maryland Duration: 12 months The position can be remote anywhere USA. * * *Please do not post this* - The IRS have a massive amount of Sun servers running Solaris and *want to migrate to a lower cost of ownership* HP platform running HP UX and Linux. The hardware is installed so they are committed to the initiative and funding is approved starting 10/1/2010. - *It’s critical that the first person be a very strong candidate, we do have some flexibility in the hiring requirements.* - Focus is on someone who has actually done application migrations with Solaris to Linux, experienced at the Web/App/DB tiers of numerous applications, and can demonstrate they have migrated applications. - *Not looking for Deployment people* and not looking for Implementation people. C++ (Unix!!!!!!! - *NOT* Windows). *DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* - The duties are not limited to the following: 1. Assessment of Existing WebSphere and Oracle iAS 10g App+Web Tiers on Solaris. 2. Remediated and migrated using WebSphere and Oracle iAS 10g App+Web tiers on Solaris 10/Linux under VMWare . 3. Remediated and migrated in the App+Web tiers on Solaris 10/Linux under VMWare . 4. Assessment and recommendation for Scalability, Performance and Availability of WebSphere and Oracle iAS stack in a Network Deployment. 5. Migration of J2EE based application from Solaris to Solaris/Linux under VMWare. 6. Assess application migration impact due to change in J2EE, Servlet, EJB specs and the differences resulting from App Server version upgrade, and recommend migration paths. 7. Resolve any issues with migrated J2EE applications. 8. Assessment and Migration/Development of UNIX C/C++ under Solaris. 9. Migration/Development of Oracle OCI code using Pro*C. 10. Migration/Development of Oracle Forms/Reports and deployment to iAS 10g. 11. System Documentation and preparation of Migration Report *REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:* This role is an extremely hands-on, as he/she will be the "go to" person for problem resolution. Minimum of 8-12 years experience with: - WebSphere App Server and Oracle iAS 10g - in a business environment including design and development of J2EE based application. - Experience with high availability WebSphere 5x, 6x deployments supporting custom application code and third party applications. - Hands on experience with Servlets and EJB development, trouble shooting. - Focus is on someone who has actually done application migrations with *Solaris to Linux*, experienced at the Web/App/DB tiers of numerous applications, and can demonstrate they have migrated applications. - Hands on experience with Oracle Forms & Reports development tools. - Solid understanding of J2EE technologies (e.g., JNI, JDBC, JMS, JNDI, JTA, JAAS, etc.). - Work experience with various frameworks like Spring, MVC, iBatis, Hibernate etc. - Experience with Solaris and Linux (Redhat preferred), Shell scripting. - Development experience with Oracle Database 9i, 10g, (SQL, PL/SQL etc.). - Development experience with *C/C++ compilers and Pro*C pre-compilers under Solaris/Linux.* - Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills - Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills - Ability to present findings and conclusions clearly and concisely *If interested please fill the following details:* * * Full Name: Phone Number: Home Number: Email ID: Expected Rate: Availability: Current Location: Visa Status: Relocation: Face to face: If you are interested in this position please respond with updated resume rate and Contact details ASAP.
