The System Analyst shall apply analytical methods to determine the optimal solution to varied and complex strategic, operational, and tactical issues. The system analyst shall identify the optimal use of all network assets in the USCENTCOM related area of responsibility. The system analyst shall use analytic techniques such as simulations, linear and nonlinear programming, queuing and other stochastic and non-stochastic models, to provide a quantitative basis for making recommendations to the CENTCOM networks in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility. Specific duties and skills required. 1. Network management: · Expert knowledge of network management systems and protocols (SNMP, NetFlow) required/desired. · Expert-level experience with: *NetQoS, Ops Ware CNCM, Packet Design, ArcSight, NetCool, TMS/Remedy* is definitely a must and required. · Expert-level experience means 2-3 years of hands-on experience with tools listed. · Other expert-level experience with tools such as Net Scout, HP Open View, WhatsUP, CA Spectrum are definitely a plus. · Any certification with vendor listed above is a plus. 2. Networking: · Experience with SNMP, firewall; · CCNP or CCIP certification is a minimum, CCIE is a plus. · Minimum 3-5 years hands-on experience on configuring router/switch required. · Net Analyst certification a plus. 3. Programming: · General programming knowledge such as Perl/VBA, WEB service programming, · Object Oriented programming, · Certification such as Java certified programmer, Microsoft Certified Developer a plus · Minimum 2-3 years hands-on experience required. 4. Database: · Proficient on SQL query using MS SQL Server or Oracle, etc... · Minimum 2-3 years hands-on experience query database required. 5. Operating systems: · RAID configuration, Windows 2003 or 2007, and Symantec anti-virus experience is required. · MCSE, VMware, Linux/Unix, VERITAS backup is preferred. · Experience with HBSS and VMS is a plus. · Minimum 4-5 years hands-on experience required. 6. Education: · Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education, with 8 years or more of professional experience. · Gold Disk and DoD experience preferred. The successful candidate must be a team player, be willing to occasionally work outside of normal business hours and be willing to travel throughout the USCENTCOM area of responsibility (which includes Afghanistan, Iraq, Qatar, Bahrain, and other Middle Eastern nations). 7.
