If you have any suitable resources please respond to *r...@polytera.com*<r...@polytera.com> only * * *Requirement Details:* * * *Title: Data Conversion Lead Duration: 2 years* *Location: Sacramento, CA* * * We are looking for an experienced data conversion technical lead who can lead conversion activities to convert the data from a mainframe legacy system (IDMS and COBOL) to a new web based Dot Net application utilizing SQL Server The responsibilities include conducting technical design for the conversion programs, data analysis, develop conversion programs to transform and load the data into the target system database. *RESPONSIBILITIES:* Reviews & prepares a data mapping document for client acceptance prior to converting data from legacy system to the new system Creates code to transform and load data into the target database Writes transformation programs for converting data from a legacy format to a relational database • Manages and resolves data conversion issues and is responsible for all the technical activities for data conversion • Identifies and resolves problems related to data management • Strong data conversion experience on large engagements and using a variety of data sources • Maintains standards and documentation • Keeps management well informed of area activities • Assists Technical Support with any data related tasks • Able to easily communicate with both technical and non-technical individuals • Solid programming skills in COBOL, C# and SQL Server database. • Communicates all data conversion tasks to Conversion Manager, who provides information to client • Under limited supervision, analyze and determine conversion requirements and provide conversion specifications for concurrent client projects. • Interpret client's existing systems and workflows, through and including the balancing of conversion data • Validate client data for accuracy • Communicate progress and any potential problems to Conversion Lead for awareness and/or resolution • Complete all administrative duties (i.e. weekly status reports, etc.) • Foster and maintain the highest professional standards in all internal and client related activities *REQUIREMENTS:* • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent • Four (4) or more years of progressive technical experience in data mapping, transformations, file conversions, analysis, and similar functions * * *Advanced skills in Microsoft SQL Server including but not limited to:* Writing queries, Filtering and formatting data, Calculating values, Creating table reports, and joining data on multiple tables.
