Job Description:
The individual will be work within Client Applications to help design the
User Interface for a new application portal within the team. This
individual will be responsible for running user experience sessions,
providing best practice designs and concepts and delivering a User Interface
and the related style sheets. In this role the individual will work with the
project managers, business analysts and lead programmers to define the UI
solution and implementation roadmap.
*Job Responsibilities: *
- Work with Business Analysis team to understand user requirements
- Working with subject matter experts, requirements analysts and
developers to design graphical web interfaces with emphasis on usability,
consistency and aesthetics
- Conduct user research to inform design
- Work closely with the project team and other internal IS and
business stakeholders to build and document storyboards, proof-of-concept
mockups, demos and prototypes of the next generation Client Applications
user interface
- Collaborate in the definition of user interface design standards for
Client Applications, to optimize ease-of-use and achieve an
integrated and
consistent look and feel
- Develop UI standards or style guides for consistent look and feel,
layout, and navigation
- Actively develop all CSS, HTML, etc...related to the project
*Skills:*
- Strong UI Design and Development experience
- Ability to develop UI Standards and Style Guides.
- Strong experience with CSS and HTML.
- AJAX and Grails exp is a +
- Financial Services exp is a +
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
- 5+ years of experience in Web design/development, with specific
expertise with Web-based applications
- Fluency with Web standards and technologies, including: CSS, HTML,
expertise with multiple conventional AJAX Frameworks (YUI, jQUERY, EXT,
Dojo)
- Fluency with Sencha/EXTjs is a very strong plus
- Working knowledge of Sitemesh and how to build HTML, CSS templates
for use in Sitemesh effectively
- Experience with Grails is a strong plus
- Strong Web graphics production capability and practioner experience
with various mockup tools
- Experience with methodologies such as Iterative development, Agile
or RUP
- Creative approach to problem solving, innovation and issue
resolution
- Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate
actively and proactively with others in a cross-functional team
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally and as a
presenter
- Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering
highly-polished Web-based prototype under tight time constraints
