Candidates must have a strong understanding of basic administration skills utilizing SQL Server. *Job description: * · SQL Server installations & Configurations including Cluster installs. Patching SQL Servers. · Experience in general Database Administration in SQL Server ( 2005 and 2008 ) on Windows 2003 and Windows 2008. · Hands on experience with using various SQL tools SSMS, BIDS, SQL Profiler etc. · Hands on experience with SSIS. · Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, log shipping · issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc. · Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, Memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention. · Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring. · Knowledge managing database servers using policy based management. · Code migrations to different environments. · Experience in using third party tools like IDERA Compliance manager is a plus. · Knowledge of scripting using Windows Power shell, VB Script is a plus. · Basic working experience with windows server, security delegation, SPNs, storage components. · Able to provide off hours support. · Strong communication skills. · Excellent team player and customer service.
