Updating to 2.4 is a good idea, since OSS version of 2.3 is end-of-life.

I would like to clarify one thing regarding the release of the new remoting
(Artery). We are still developing it and we are releasing development
milestones that you can try out. M3 to be released end of next week
according to the plan <https://github.com/akka/akka-meta/issues/22>. It
will be merged back to 2.4 and released in a 2.4.x version, but that will
not happen next week.
