Justin, Thanks for much for the code sample.
First of all let me say that I think I will have no more than 2 nodes at first. I think I was referring exactly to what you did but yours is much smarter. The workaround I had in mind was to just "down" the unreachable member and that´s all. In my case two different clusters wouldn't be created in a network partition scenario so split brain wouldn´t be a concern, because I am not going to use the auto-down config. Today I was playing with two laptops each node forming cluster and I realized that when auto-down is not specified and I turn off the wi-fi for one of those nodes, one of them become Unreachable and that´s it, but split brain is not a concern. It just requires a human to manually Down the crashed node. That's why I just wanted to self destruct the unreachable node instead of doing it manually. On the other hand if I setup auto-down, for the same scenario the brain is splitted and so two clusters are created and so I am screwed. Am I in the right direction? I was thinking more in a server that crashes more than a vertical network partition affecting many nodes...
