Hey everyone, David, that is a HUGE step forward to have a WiX installer. I'll be testing it quite thoroughly.
Ok, so let's focus on getting an Alchemi 1.1 release out the door in the next 5-6 weeks. I started working on a User's Guide documentation project that involves a number of HTML files that get compiled into a CHM file. I just set up the skeleton using the PDF manual from release v1.0 as a guide, but all of the screenshots are out of date. Now that we have a WiX installer, all of that will need to be rewritten and modified. If anyone feels so inclined, just jump right in there and help out -- no contribution is too small! :) I'm also in the process of setting up a Developer's Guide CHM file as well. Ideally this will contain a general overview of how the solution is laid out, instructions on how to build things, what software (like WiX and HTML Help Workshop) you need to have installed and how to do so. I think this will help everyone out quite a bit. I'm also planning to add a project file (MsBuild script) that automatically generates the NDoc class documentation (using some of the MsBuild Community Tasks) so it can be inserted into the WiX installer. Ideally we can have everything set up so that you can change to Release mode, build the WiX project, and everything (documentation too) gets compiled into the MSI file. :) So, if anyone wants to work on that stuff, email me (on the list or privately) and I can help you get started. Sounds good guys, thanks for all of your hard work. :) -Matt On 9/8/07, Anton Melser <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hi all, > I will have a look at the service controller, however progress might > be a little slow as the rugby world cup has just started...
