The son of Mercede McCambridge lived in LR and worked for what was then the largest off Wall Street brokerage firm. He had been trading and putting losing stocks in the house account and gaining stocks in his mother's account. When the firm discovered it they offered to let him resign, sign a note for the money stolen and thus avoid prison. He could not see him self ever being able to pay it back so he killed his wife and two children and then himself. AFTER finding out if his life insurance would pay off on his wife and himself.
This was before Clinton was first elected president.
