Last night on CNN Paul Begala said that in the late weeks of the 1984 campaign
it was obvious to all that Mondale was going to lose. His advisors suggested
that there was no way to win and that Mondale should campaign the way he wanted
his grandchildren to remember him. McCain should take the same advice.
