>> When you say you 'checked' the grounds, what does that mean? <<
Buy a cheap Ohm meter .. Hardware store, Radio Shack, Home Depot. Check the resistance of the Ohm meter wiring itself .. Touch test leads together. Then test from you light bulb connector to the engine block or battery .. It should only be about .01 ohm more or you need to improve the ground. Not sure about 69 running light, but many Alfa lamps run the ground wire from the bulb to just one of the screws holding the lamp housing to the body ..... change this to a wire from the head lamp bulb to a rust free spot the body using a dedicated ground screw ... you can run all the ground wire from all the lights to this screw. Also don't use just the bare wire wrapped around that screw ... use a proper hoop connection crimped onto the wire (by the way if the only hoops you can find are "insulated" . pull off the plastic insulator and throw away .. You can't get a decent crimp with the insulator present .. And you don't need it on a ground wire anyway.)
