1) Any idea how to replace the actual hood latch cable?--My car does have the
emergency one, but I doubt it will last forever. Find both ends of what's in there, carefully tape the new one to the old one, and use the old one to snake the new one through. 2) Although I've replaced the thermostat, and the temperature gauge sender, nothing helps--- Although the engine will heat to 185 if I idle it long enough, once I drive and air goes through the radiator, the temperature drops to just below 140. Have you bled the system? In my experience, one possible cause of low readings can be air in the system.
