There was a very good factory hitch, you want to start looking for one of 
those.  It bolted in to a number of places across the front edge of the bottom 
of the trunk, and had backing plates inside the trunk.  Towing capacity was 
3500 lbs in a Milano, although I don't think I'd feel comfortable towing that 
much.
