You can mix your used brake fluid, ATF, petroleum based parts washer fluid, and gear lube with your used engine oil.
I do this, and give it all to a friend at a nearby shop who has a waste oil furnace. Since all these are petroleum based they burn in the furnace just fine. I believe some municipalities will let you pour anti-freeze down the drain (not a storm drain, or sewer drain) if it is connected to a sanitary waste water treatment facility. You need to check with your town. There is some mention of this in this link, and if you google used anti-freeze disposal you'll get several similar answers. http://tinyurl.com/296zgkt Jeff -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Stefano Iachella Sent: Wednesday, June 09, 2010 5:35 PM To: Alfa Digest Subject: [alfa] Fluid disposal Cats: I'm moving in a few days and cleaning out my garage. I have used brake fluid from a past flush, and the same for some coolant. I've never known how to dispose of these two fluids. Can someone help?
