I would disagree for the following reasons. The first tranny had a first  
gear that went on for ever It didn't have a strong bite in first, and the 
revs  needed to shift to second to too long. The second tranny, which I had 
initially,  ran out of steam quickly in first gear. The Verde tranny was an 
excellent  compromise. I had it installed in my 1985 2.5, and noticed an 
immediate  improvement. The engine still pulled hard in first, but didn't 
require 
the early  shift that the original tranny did. When I installed the 3.0 it 
got even better.  My 1985 is my track car.  --Bruce

Depends...if you do a lot of highway driving then a Verde tranny  would be 
a good swap.  If you want something really fast then stick with  the GTV6 
gearing!
