It depends on the running kernel. Most packages determine target based on
uname -m. LFS has commands in place to check 32/64bit. It doesn't have
those commands for ppc. So you will have to adjust those commands for ppc
when using ALFS.

My G5 blew up so I can't test. Still have a G4, though!
