javaScript's array are just like objects with some special properties like length and push methods ( implemented in Array.prototype) . They are efficient but their efficiency will be affected if you use them to store huge data. you can also say that since javascript's array's are basically not arrays so they are significantly slower than the real arrays ( the ones implemented in C/C++ for example) but you can still use them, the actual performance may be different .
