Tascam recorders from what I've seen should certainly not be considered
as Tascam likes taking shortcuts in build quality and design these days,
yet another case of one "Big Boy" company just trading on what once was
a great name in Audio recording.
If you're looking at outdoor recording then its not too much the
recorder I'd be so worried about rahter purchasing yourself a good
windscreen, I personally like the Gutman screens from Germany which are
fairly cheap.
Hardly any point in buying a Zoom F8 or H6 unless you're going to be
doing multi track recording which most people aren't interested in doing
or needing to do and even then - suppose you think you might get into
multi track mixing and so on - a standard 2 track recorder will probably
exceed your expectations when used alongside your computer and some
multi track audio software such as Reaper.
