I use a Soundblaster HD Audio device which is specifically designed for high end audio. No, not as good as the Asus Professional sound devices but then again what should one expect for less than $100, its far better than them Realtek things you'll find on a Mother Board or in a Notebook. I've never bothered about the control panel - never installed the software that came with the device -and I seem to do okay. I won't go into too much regarding this device unless other list members wish to know more suffice to say that the box has RCA connections for line-in, line-out and Turntable Amp, a quarter inch stereo headphones jack and a quarter inch microphone jack - yep things have been done properly on this device and that's to the credit of Creative Labs, I would never have thought that they'd come out with an near audiophile device -.
