Ah thanks I'd never have hit upon that myself. I appreciate you.

Okay.
During clock set use the F3 key to toggle between 12 and 24 hour clock mode.
The recorder won’t announce which mode its in but you’ll know by using the up/down keys to move between the hours, if you’re in 24-hour mode you’ll hear values lead out larger than 12 obviously.

Hi Dane and all,
On my ls-p4 which arrived yesterday I'm at a loss as to where the 12 versus 24 hour setting can be found I've looked everywhere and am not hearing it spoken. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Take good care.

No it can’t read the memory and systemin information.
Yes if Olympus put their mind to it then this function could be incorporated into later firmware and perhaps it will be but not now. There’s one problem with the reading of the time and date setting that Olympus should address, in 12-hour mode no indication is given of AM or PM time so to work around this you toggle the LS-P4 to 24 hour mode.

The Doves nest wasn't all that far from where I was standing, just round

I used the "Auto" level setting of the Olympus LS-P4 which - in my view -
is
one of the best "Auto" level setups I've ever used as the recorder has a
"Look Ahead" function for want of a better description to check what the
level is.
I used the internal microphones of the recorder and the recording as you
heard it is what I originally recorded including original filename and
format.
For what it is the Olympus LS-P4 is a pure gem.

Hi,
Ooh the birdies this just made my day I can't tell you how much fun this
was. How far away was that dove from you? Was this recorded with the
internal mics of the ls-p4? Was center mic on or off and did you use one of
the preset mic levels or set them manually?
Thanks so much for sharing this.
Take good care.

Enjoy the Dove

I recorded this in my Back Yard with my Olympus LS-P4 recorder around 2
months ago.
