When I am plugging it without a monitor nothing is happening, I will try with a monitor later.

Hi,

I would make two suggestions, if I may. First, can you plug a VGA
screen in? If so, does it work? Secondly, when you connect the device to the
computer, do you hear the hardware found sound? Further, when you connect
the device to the TV Box, does anything happen in terms of sound? If the
device is not functioning on either the computer or the TV box, and
particularly if it is not working with a screen, I would be tempted to think
the device has a problem. I have never seen one of these with a micro USB
plug, so there is, of course, a possibility that it requires a screen
plugged in to work. That is unlikely but I suppose it is possible.

I went to volume control like you described and HDMI is not there, no screen
reader is finding it as well, it is not working with anything even when I
plug micro usb to power it, I never connected a monitor in it yet.

Hi,

I have several of these. In no case have I needed to plug a
monitor into the device. It just acts like a soundcard, to set it up
on Windows, go to the playback devices, either through right-clicking
the volume control in the system tray and clicking "playback devices"
or through the rundll32 command, whatever you usually use. You should
find the HDMI as one of the choices, though it may have a different
name which includes things like "display audio" or something like
that. You can then select it as default if it isn't already.
Alternatively, you can choose the HDMI sound device from whatever audio
playing application/screen reader you want to use through it.
I don't know about TV boxes, this depends on the box, I'm afraid.
Most will simply start using the device as soon as it is connected,
but if there are several HDMI out ports on the box, it may require setup.
HTH,
Aman

I bought such an adapter that has also a 3.5mm line out and a micro
usb in case it needed power as I was told. I connected it to a digital
tv box as well as to the pc and even gave it power but how can I
configure pc and/or digital tv box to see it? In both cases I didn't
connect a monitor, is it necessary to use the latter for it to work or
does it function like usb sound card?
