Hey Tom.
What you just described tells me you are not yet in the default programmes screen. You were in the right place when you earlier indicated that you saw "music player: groove music". You have to activate "default programmes". When you type default into the search box of the settings window that opens when you hit windows key + I, the results that show "default" will populate. You want "default apps". So you'll have to hit enter on that in order to get back to the screen you were at previously. If you want I can call you or something. I think your windows is fine. I can't help you with the Radio issue as I don't really know what that is, but I doubt the two problems are related. Not sure if you remember but we spoke before a few years ago when you were having another issue with using winamp. -----Original Message----- From: all-audio@groups.io <all-audio@groups.io> On Behalf Of Tom Kaufman Sent: April 3, 2022 12:07 PM To: all-audio@groups.io Subject: Re: [all-audio] How Do I Make Winamp My Default Player? Well...after seeing your message that says you have to use tab and shift-tab, I tried it again; this time, I only get three things: find a setting, next tab says, "default save location" the next and final one says "home button!" That's all I get if I use just the tab key! So why is it I'm getting something different than what you all are telling me! I did find "music player"...but must use the arrow keys to get to it! So now I am wondering if somehow, I don't have Windows set correctly? I did not install Windows myself, so is there a way to know whether Windows is set up right? Hey Tom. I think we need to know exactly what you are doing in order to figure out what is happening or going wrong. In these lists, the items are buttons, and you have to navigate using tab and shift-tab, not arrow keys. You have to press the one that says music player. Then tell us what happens after that. Press tab once the popup appears. What happens then? We'll try and take it from there. -----Original Message----- From: all-audio@groups.io <all-audio@groups.io> On Behalf Of Tom Kaufman Sent: April 3, 2022 02:23 AM To: all-audio@groups.io Subject: Re: [all-audio] How Do I Make Winamp My Default Player? Well Music Player isn't working for me either! As best I can tell you, here's what I'm doing: I do Windows I (this gets me to "settings" then I type "default and hit "enter." Now let's see; I think I arrow to "Music Player"...and I'm telling you that the only music player it shows me is Groove music"...which IS NOT WHAT I WANT! So please (if you can) tell me why it's not showing me all these results I'm hearing about? I want to make Winamp my default player and don't want to go through the headache of telling it that I want Winamp every time I go to play something! Yes, there is something in winamp that is supposed to do what you described, but it is not designed for windows 10. It may work, but I don't believe it does. In any case, it's always better to do things at the operating system level, if you can. "music player" should be one of the choices in that list. It's not a list you can arrow through; unfortunately you have to use tab and shift tab. Same goes for the list that pops up once you activate the "music player" button. -----Original Message----- From: all-audio@groups.io <all-audio@groups.io> On Behalf Of Tom Kaufman Sent: April 2, 2022 07:07 PM To: all-audio@groups.io Subject: Re: [all-audio] How Do I Make Winamp My Default Player? Okay...have attempted to try what JM Casey is saying, but am confused as I see no buttons; instead, I see stuff like "default browser and...can't remember what else! There used to be something right in Winamp where you could tell it what files you wanted Winamp to play; is this no longer the case? I wish that Windows would just keep things simple and leave it alone! Sorry...but guess I need a slightly better explanation of how this is done! Hey guys. There is, I think, a much more efficient way of doing this. Press windows key + I to open settings. Type "default" into the search box and hit enter. Now you will see a series of buttons pertaining to different types of files. Activate "music player" and select from the popup tat appears the application that you want to use, in this case, winamp. You can do the same for video files if you want, though winamp isn't very video-capable. -----Original Message----- From: all-audio@groups.io <all-audio@groups.io> On Behalf Of Philip Francis Anderson Sent: April 2, 2022 06:11 PM To: all-audio@groups.io Subject: Re: [all-audio] How Do I Make Winamp My Default Player? Am running Windows 10 and the latest version of Jaws! I know some may think I'm stupid for running Winamp; no matter...that's my player of choice! So if someone can tell me in terms that I can understand, it would be greatly appreciated; give me step-by-step directions if you can! The goldwave manual is good and explains quite well how to use the programme. There are also some good things on the audacity wiki including, if I remember right, an accessibility-oriented page. Check out the VIP software guide for audacity as well, which I think has been updated fairly recently. I'm more of a text learner than an audio learner so I don't really seek out tutorials and such of that kind, but tend to go for written documentation instead. But I have seen audio tutorials out there for GW at least and there have been some paid and free courses as well. So keep looking. -----Original Message----- From: all-audio@groups.io <all-audio@groups.io> On Behalf Of stewartross via groups.io Sent: March 9, 2022 04:16 PM To: all-audio@groups.io Subject: Re: [all-audio] skipping back and forth in GoldWave hi there many thanks fore all theis. from stew ----- Original Message ----- From: "JM Casey" <jmca...@teksavvy.com> To: <all-audio@groups.io> Sent: Wednesday, March 09, 2022 9:09 PM Subject: Re: [all-audio] skipping back and forth in GoldWave Can't help with mp3s, but goldwave can be obtained from: http://www.goldwave.com And the audacity project is at: http://www.audacityteam.org -----Original Message----- From: all-audio@groups.io <all-audio@groups.io> On Behalf Of stewartross via groups.io Sent: March 9, 2022 02:28 PM To: all-audio@groups.io Subject: Re: [all-audio] skipping back and forth in GoldWave hi can i firstly say sorry for just replying to this message, as i couldn't find the email address to post to this group. am looking fore some help. please can someone tell me any links to where i can get hold of the following software. goldwave and a mp3 tutorial, and audorasity? also with an mp3 lesson? regards from stew thanks. ----- Original Message ----- From: "dennis" <dennis...@gmail.com> To: <all-audio@groups.io> Sent: Wednesday, March 09, 2022 6:57 PM Subject: Re: [all-audio] skipping back and forth in GoldWave > glad to help. i sometimes forget little things like that and it drives > me crazy. > > On 3/9/2022 11:20 AM, Howard Traxler wrote: > >> >> Thank you Dennis.
